Welcome to the NEW and IMPROVED A. J. Dimond High School Key Club Website!!!!!!!!!!

Key Club is an international organization devoted to the principle of service, to the advancement of individual community and national welfare, to the building of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship, and to the strengthening of international goodwill. Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world, continuing to grow rapidly in at least 23 countries. We would love to have you as a part of this club!

To be an active member of the Dimond High Key Club, you must:

  • Attend majority of meetings.

This year, meetings are held every Wednesday during lunch. During first lunch we meet in Ms. Norsworthy's room, B205 and during second lunch we meet in our wonderful supervisor Ms. Hammerstrom's room, B105. We are one of the few Dimond clubs who have our meetings during both lunches--we do this especially because we want to encourage participation from the whole school, which means freshmen too!

  • Have 10 hours of community service per semester.

This is especially important for those members who use Key Club as their additional service club which other Dimond clubs, like National Honor Society, require. Being an active member of Key CLub throughout the school year and not just at the end is crucial because it helps you keep your schedule balanced while still attaining all of the service hours you need as well as making sure you're are qualified for NHS. For those of you interested in learning more about NHS, check out their website at <dhsnhs.googlepages.com>.

  •  At the end of the year, you must have at least 10 inside hours out of your minimum total of 20 hours.

This year, all outside hours that are turned into us will be recorded. For now, we're looking at hours being due the first week of April, especially for seniors. Anyone who reaches the active point of 20 hours will receive a certificate at our end of the year barbeque. However, for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, you can continue to do service past that deadline. There are a few events that will be occuring all the way up to a couple weeks after school is out. The hours you serve at these events can be used towards this year or next year, whichever you may choose. So don't give up if you still need those 20 hours--you've still got a couple months left with a lot of opportunities coming up! Our goal is to serve our community for the most hours possible. So don't even just stop at 20!
